Mental health and the birth of a new artist

Despite his success, Williams’ career has been punctuated by personal challenges, which led him in and out of rehab. Williams began creating art in 2006 as a therapeutic practice to process complex emotions and find inner peace. Encouraged by British artist David Hockney, who gifted him an iPad to create digital art, Williams discovered a new creative path. This became a lifeline and, eventually, a new calling.

From Amsterdam to Barcelona: the journey continues

Following the pure joy and success of his debut show, Pride and Self-Prejudice, Williams now reveals another layer with Confessions of a Crowded Mind.

Life Is One Long Awkward Moment (2024) is a standout work that captures Robbie’s humour-infused self-awareness. The phrase, scrawled across a canvas, evokes shared social anxieties.

You’re F*ing Amazing (2023) uses colour and affirmation to uplift, encouraging viewers to see their own uniqueness. It represents Williams’ mission to encourage people to embrace imperfections.

Crowded Mind exhibition: between satire and sincerity

Me Tip-Toeing Around Your Ever-Changing Moods (2023) is a witty self-portrait that depicts Williams in ballet slippers, a nod to emotional fragility and relationship dynamics.

Bi-Polar Bear (2023) adds humour to heavy subject matter, offering a symbolic take on mental health, identity, and coping through creativity.

The process behind the paintings

Visiting the MOCO Museum in Barcelona was one of the highlights of my trip. It’s a place where modern, contemporary, and digital art come together in the most dynamic way full of color, creativity, and unexpected emotions. The museum is located in the heart of El Born, inside a beautifully restored historic building that contrasts perfectly with the modern art inside. I really recommend visiting the Moco Museum. I was astonished by the artworks there. I’m keen on contemporary art, so I was delighted to see works by Andy Warhol, Banksy, and others. The museum is very interactive, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere. There’s also a special room with light installations it was incredible! Besides, they have an amazing gift shop with souvenirs at affordable prices.

I had the amazing opportunity to visit it this week and it honestly left me speechless. As someone who deeply loves art, I was thrilled to see works by some of my favorite artists: Banksy, Yayoi Kusama, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and so many more! They’re also currently featuring a temporary exhibition of artworks by Robbie Williams. I was so surprised, he’s not only a talented singer, but also an incredible artist! I especially loved how the exhibition combines world-famous artists like Banksy, Basquiat, and Andy Warhol with emerging digital creators and NFT art. It’s not a typical “quiet” museum it’s interactive, emotional, and modern. The NFT and digital rooms were fascinating they make you reflect on how art, technology, and human creativity are merging today. Lighting, music, and the flow between rooms are very well designed, so you never feel bored or overwhelmed. The curators clearly thought about how to make art feel accessible, emotional, and current. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the museum shop also has great souvenirs and art books.
