The Future is Old
The young provocative Artist attacks the ’status-quo’ through his paintings, sculptures and immersive installations. By taking the Zeitgeist of today and breaking it apart into defragmented paintings and sculptures, the Artist aims to capture the revulsion and need for change felt by his young generation.
These exhibited works might be more relevant than ever, especially in our challenging times, as they question History repeating itself, and the position Youth will take now and in the near future, inspired by the words of Coretta Scott King: “Freedom is never really won … you win it in every generation!”
About Contemporary Artist ROBIN KID (a.k.a THE KID)
Equally loved by collectors and visitors of major institutions around the world, from Le Grand Palais in Paris to the Twenty-first Century Museum in Chicago, ROBIN KID (a.k.a THE KID) is a citizen of the world and a truly impactful presence on the evolving contemporary art scene. Born in 1991 and hailing from Dutch descent, ROBIN KID (a.k.a THE KID) is an autodidact, multi-disciplinary neo-Pop contemporary artist.
His work hijacks a variety of social, political and traditional imagery of the past and present, pulling intuitively from the world of advertising, the internet, television and childhood memories. The result? Thought provoking visual narratives which question our polarised world of the 21st century and the thin frontier between innocence and corruption confronting today’s Youth.
