Contemporary Art and Self-Expression

WorldPride brings questions of identity, visibility, freedom, and belonging into public view. Modern and contemporary artists have also approached these subjects from many different personal, cultural, and political perspectives.

At Moco Museum, visitors encounter artists who question convention, examine society, and express individual perspectives. The collection does not offer one single view. It creates space for different responses and conversations.

Art rarely gives one answer. It can make a familiar idea feel different, open a conversation, or leave you carrying a new question into the city.

Keith Haring: Art, Activism and Accessibility

One artist whose work connects art, public life, and activism is Keith Haring.

Known for his instantly recognisable figures and energetic lines, Haring believed art should reach beyond galleries and speak to everyday life. He used his public work and platform to support AIDS awareness, oppose discrimination, and connect creativity with social action.

Icons, Emerging Artists and New Perspectives

Moco Museum brings internationally recognised artists into conversation with emerging talent. This combination allows visitors to encounter familiar cultural icons while also discovering artists shaping new visual languages and ideas.

As an independent modern and contemporary art museum, Moco works to make art feel approachable—even for visitors who do not usually visit museums. The experience begins with curiosity rather than prior knowledge.
